The Carolina Thyroid Cancer Study is funded by the North Carolina State Legislature in response to concern over abnormal thyroid cancer rates in Iredell County, NC. The study is lead by Dr. Andrew Olshan from UNC and includes researchers from NC State and Duke. Our objectives are to build a pipeline to detect spatial clusters with elevated cancer risk and test for associations with evironmental exposure variables.
